Zscaler Recognized as a Leader
In 2008 Gartner didn’t recognize Zscaler as a vendor however just recently Gartner placed them the in “Leader’s Quadrant” due to large customer deployments, innovative features, customer support (fast response rates and technical acumen) and global cloud architecture deployment (“Zscaler already has the largest global footprint of data centers”.)
Zscaler’s ability to go from literally nowhere to the innovative leader in Gartner’s report is validation of our technical assessment and customer feedback. Not only is Zscaler in the “Leader’s Quadrant” they are the most visionary company according to Gartner. Zscaler’s unique capabilities pits them against traditional security software and appliances vendors such as Cisco, McAfee, Symantec, Websense, and others.
How did Zscaler beat the big security vendors?
- Zscaler’s multi-tenant architecture requires no hardware. This ability to deliver advanced web security exclusively as a Cloud service is very compelling.
- Zscaler’s global cloud deployment protects users anywhere, anytime in real time. With over 40 top-tier data centers across the globe, the most in the industry, Zscaler supports millions of users in over 160 countries. The Zscaler Security Cloud secures billions of transactions per day, and blocks more than 10 million malicious threats daily to transparently provide secure web and email to businesses of every size.
- Zscaler’s comprehensive set of features provides protection from web threats as well protection against Data Loss.
- Ease of deployment. No hardware or software to install. In addition, it enforces user-specific policy uniformly across locations (e.g. office, home or airport) and across devices (laptops, smartphones, etc.) which is unique to Zscaler.
In conclusion the large security vendors were late to the game. Their legacy delivery architecture delayed their adoption of cloud services. As an example, Symantec, the California-based security company continues to market software and appliance based products but they are now offering Symantec.cloud, a portfolio of approximately 16 security services which run in their data centers.
